When you were little you had the lovely ability to believe in the unbelievable. You created your own world full of magical things and your dreams became reality in the blink of an eye. As we grew up we realized that it takes a lot more than imagination to make your dreams come true, in fact, it soon reveals itself to be one of the most difficult things you could ever do. I like to think of being an entrepreneur as being in your own fairytale. As I have mentioned many times, being an entrepreneur is extremely difficult and there are many challenges that wait in line for you to overcome. But I have found that those of us who do travel down this self-governing path have been able to hold on to that little piece of child like imagination and hope. Reality can be the evil stepmother to your story; always trying to put you down and making you feel as though your hopes and dreams are nothing more than just that. In the story Cinderella, fairy godmother shows up just as Cinderella was giving up on everything she had fought for and tried to be. After one night of getting a little break and having some hope restored, she was ready to fight through the still long road another of her. We all need that one person or opportunity in our lives to show up and give you a moment of encouragement and hope, restoring your bruised dreams. Like the song says, “A dream is a wish you heart makes”, it really couldn’t be clearer. Fairytale fan or not, the reality of this is true. If you are willing to take a chance and get your nose bloodied for something that might not even be a reality yet, then you know its true love. You can be in love with your company, mine is my baby. I will do makes sure it grows big and strong and hopefully without to many damaging blows to the head before it is able to walk on its own. Entrepreneurs, we have a gift. We have the ability to believe in the dream before the reality. We are willing to think happy thoughts and let ourselves fly away on a new adventure. Remember to believe in yourself, your dreams and the reality that could be. Seek out those who are inspiring and make sure you hold on to the gift of childlike imagination. Our lives are stressful and we can get creative blocks, step outside your routine and inspire yourself. I don’t get much spare time in my life right now but when I do I like to turn on music and paint myself a masterpiece or burry myself in my studio and create a one of a kind dress. It is the little things like this that restart your imagination; it’s allowing yourself to do what you love without the pressure of deadlines and responsibilities. Till next time.
